Join watercolour artist Liz Chadderton for this 'egg'citing, 45 minute Arty Class webinar. Filmed live from England on 21 Sept 2021.
**See Reference photo and recommended materials below**
In this prelude to her full, 2-3 hour workshop webinar, Liz will be exploring fascinating and beautiful eggs. Such a feat of engineering and so beautiful. From the tiniest hummingbird egg to the enormous ostrich!
Did you know that budgies and many owls lay round or spherical eggs? Eggs appear far more colourful to birds because they can see ultraviolet colours, this helps them distinguish different eggs even if they all look the same to humans.
For the artist, the challenge is to get a beautiful smooth shell, so in this class we will do just that and then explore a few different ways of capturing the markings and speckles which make eggs so beautiful. Liz will show you the easiest way to draw an egg shape, but you can always find a template online if you are not confident.
