In this workshop, Ramesh will teach you how to paint a dramatic Indian Cityscape scene, using strong tonal values and a limited colour palette. He will be using the principles of linear and aerial perspective to create depth and atmosphere in the painting. You will learn how to use brushwork effectively to create beautiful textures and edges.

Recommended materials
• PAPER: Any 300 gsm (140 lbs) watercolour paper. Could be either a NOT (cold press) or Rough. Paper size: Quarter imperial size (14 x 10 inches) or even A3 (16 x 12 inches)
• PAINTS: Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Rose madder or Crimson, Red pale, French ultramarine, Light green, Viridian Green, Black
• BRUSHES: A few rounds (No. 8,10,12), a flat wash brush (1 inch) and a rigger, for fine details • OTHER: Palette with large wells for mixing washes, a drawing board, 2B pencil, eraser, atomizer, water containers, rag, tissues
